The Charles C. Walker Arena, or Walker Arena as it's commonly known, is the focal point of the equine center. This covered arena, located near the stabling complex, is most often used for equestrian events for the many breeds and disciplines represented throughout the country. It is also the site of festivals, corporate outings, new product demonstrations and many other types of events.
The arena itself measures 150' x 300', and it is completely enclosed by vinyl fencing and metal rail fencing. Located adjacent to the show office, and completely appointed with an excellent sound system, elevated judges' tower, lighting for evening events and ample utilities, the Walker Arena is a very popular amenity of the Georgia International Horse Park. State-of-the-art restroom facilities, water fountains, pay phones and a concession area with outdoor dining space offer show promoters all the spectator and exhibitor services required -- all within the confines of the Walker Arena complex.
The Walker Arena is equipped with bleacher seating for approximately 2,500 with an additional box seating area that may be used as additional general seating or for sponsor and VIP seating. The Walker Arena opens onto a scenic courtyard complete with a decorative fountain and beautiful landscaping. Bordering the courtyard are three retail shops specializing in English and western tack and apparel as well as mountain biking.
The English tack shop, International Saddlery is the exclusive feed and bedding provider for the Georgia International Horse Park. For more information about the feed and bedding program, call 770-922-8832.
