Big Haynes Creek Nature Center

"The mission of this project is to offer educational and recreational opportunities providing a better understanding and appreciation for local Piedmont ecosystems."
- Big Haynes Creek Nature Center Advisory Board

In 1998, conservation and education found a spot at the Georgia International Horse Park through the formation of the Big Haynes Creek Nature Center, a 137-acre tract of land located within the Horse Park along the Big Haynes Creek. With a grant awarded by the Urban Resources Partnership and diligence on the part of the advisory board, the master plan for the Big Haynes Creek Nature Center is nearing completion. Upon completion of the master plan and construction of the facilities, classes on ecology, wildlife and outdoor skills combine with walking trails that wind through the wetlands to offer the perfect teaching tool for children and adults alike. History, preservation and recreation combine for a unique outdoor experience at the Big Haynes Creek Nature Center.
